Just a short shore entry from Tulamben, Seraya Secrets is one of Bali’s most famous macro diving sites and a must do for anyone who loves exploring the tiny and unusual under the waves. The dive begins on a gently sloping black sand bottom that extends down toward deeper water, creating a terrain of ridges and valleys made up of sand, small rocks, and scattered rubble.

At first glance, the seabed may look simple, but that dark volcanic sand is the perfect backdrop for a world of tiny creatures hiding in plain sight. Because it lacks large coral formations and dramatic structure, Seraya’s charm lies in the microscopic details that emerge when you look closely at the sand and rubble. The scattered rock and rubble zones provide natural crevices and microhabitats, where a wide range of critters can be found, from shrimp and frogfish to ghost pipefish and nudibranchs.

Seraya Secrets is known for its remarkable biodiversity, with unusual and well‑camouflaged species often spotted by divers who take their time scanning every nook and cranny. Experienced guides often help point out the best spots to search, and many divers return to this site again and again because sightings can vary day to day and season to season.
